We're looking for a Commercial Accountant to join the team, as an integral part of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing key financial support and business insight across the Mamamia Media group. You will utilise your natural curiosity to drive business efficiency and provide meaningful insights to department leads.

About the role

  • Drive best practice and decision making by providing timely updates on financial performance to relevant business units and project teams
  • Support business units during quarterly and annual planning periods
  • Provide detailed performance reports to senior management, including weekly revenue updates to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Review and forecast sales pipeline and analyse business results and provide commentary over variances
  • Assist in the annual budget preparation
  • Drive ongoing cost and cash flow efficiency reviews, by reviewing internal processes and systems
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance in the planning and execution of any M&A engagements
  • Manage statutory and regulatory reporting
  • Liaise with external advisors and review all tax compliance including; corporate tax returns, individual tax returns, FBT, payroll tax
  • Liaise with external payroll provider to ensure monthly payroll is accurate and compliance requirements are met
  • Assist with oversight of the AP/AR function

About You

  • Professional qualification in Accounting (i.e CA, CPA, CIMA)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a professional capacity
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong financial modelling, cash flow management, forecasting, tax management and budgeting skills
  • Ability to give and receive effective feedback with curiosity and respect
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt a measured approach in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong commitment to continuous process improvement, initiatives, and ability to solve problems creatively
  • Possess a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) and wow your clients and co-workers every day
