Australia's largest women's media company is looking for a full time Senior Editor to join the Co-founder's office.

The Senior Editor will act as the custodian and manager of all content created for and about Mia Freedman's brand. You will be responsible for setting the front end strategy and overseeing all execution to ensure Mia's content remains brand-safe, industry-leading, revenue-focused and true to her brand.

The ideal candidate is someone with exceptional copywriting skills, a deep interest in social media consumption and a solid knowledge of best-practice in paid and free content.

About the role

  • CONTENT STRATEGY AND EXECUTION: Set the content strategy across all of Mia's channels, including: social media, EDM,, podcasts, to drive commercial outcomes (subs revenue, commercial partner revenue). As the gatekeeper for all content created by Mia, oversee direct reports and resources across the business to execute, ensuring content relating to Mia is delivered to a high quality, on time, on budget and within brand-safety parameters. Focus on efficiency and effectiveness, maximum "juice for the squeeze" from any piece of content created and find opportunities to repurpose historical content. Gather and present performance data to inform decision-making.

  • COPYWRITING: Draft, edit, oversee or support the creation of all copy for Mia's content. Including: emails, articles, podcasts, paid ads, social media captions, video scripts, keynotes, podcast scripts, event scripts.

  • SUBSCRIPTION RESOURCE CENTRES: Plan, curate, commission, write and edit content for the new resource centres. Act as the single point of contact and driving force for this new initiative.

  • MIA'S WEBSITE: Act as the editor for Mia Freedman's website. Plan, write, edit and manage execution of projects.

About you

  • Exceptional written, editing and copywriting skills. Experience in writing creatively and quickly across a range of mediums.
  • Strong understanding of social media, deep interest in social media consumption and staying across best-practice in paid and free content.
  • Mature, responsible, trustworthy and able to understand how to handle confidential information.
  • Responsive, agile, innovative. A strong commitment to continuous process improvement, initiatives, and ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Experience managing creative teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Eye for detail, and ability to execute
  • Strong understanding of editorial trends and the creative skills to harness them.
  • Enthusiast and proactive approach to learning new skills- there are lots of opportunities to learn from experts across the Mamamia group.
  • Ability to give and receive effective feedback with curiosity and respect.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt a measured approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) and wow your clients and co-workers every day.
